Literature Text

You tell me of the fallen angels
the ones who went astray
but perhaps they didn't lose the path
perhaps they walked away

You are a road-weary traveler
whose shoes are old and worn
and it hasn't been quite so many years
since the day that I was born

but You cannot see the fallen angels
you know only what you are
you are blinded by the light of them as they flash
fallng from your sky like a star

You say you path is truth
the only one to choose
but I've always walked behind you
would you hate me should I refuse?

You tell me of the steps I'll take
my wheel of fortune seems to spin
but I don't want to know whrere i'm going
I know only where I've been

You cannot see that it's just too soon
I don't yet know what I believe
you've pushed and prodded and led me along
and I'm desperate for a reprieve

Your words have shackled my ankles
and the key I cannot find
and as we approach the crossroads ahead
I feel the chain dragging behind

Perhaps your path is indeed the only
I know you have much proof
But have I not the right to go myself
on a journey in search of truth?
This poem actally took me a week to write-hard to believe, I know, but it's been one of those weeks. Anyway, this one means a lot to me, and I hope you like it.

tneconni, who waited so patiently through all my drawings, here it is.
